Chaps. Getting a new Tbird this week in black, first ever new vehicle I've bought.:upyeah: One question. The warranty for two years says I have to have it serviced by a Triumph dealer for it to be valid. Is it not the case a qualified mechanic could do it and I can get the book stamped, and it will still be valid? I thought this stipulation had been made illegal, or are the powers that be still thinking about it?

    Thanks for any help.

Bit of a grey area unfortunately. Triumph dealers invest a lot of money to have their mechanics trained for each new bike and therefore are knowledgeable about the requirements needed. If you have it serviced from a 3rd party they must be VAT registered and have the correct diagnostics equipment. Seeing as your spending a lot on a brand new bike is it worth not having it serviced by Triumph dealer?

To save any issues if you did have to make a claim I would use a Triumph garage for the first two years at least, you have spent all that money on a new bike surely you can spend a bit more for a couple of services, claim wise Triumph have been brilliant with me as I have had two headlight lens replaced on my Speed Triple after they cracked without question from the dealers.

    Cheers
