Has anyone else had issues with Triumph warranties now that MCS Renfrew are no longer dealers? I have had to involve trading standards and hire a car to commute whilst Tiger languishes in an 'approved' dealer. No parts for are least 2 weeks and it has already been out of action for 4 weeks. I used it every day. Not feeling any love for Triumph at the moment.

Sorry to hear you are having issues warranty wise, so what has happened? I take the dealer you have brought the bike from have folded and you are having issues with the dealer that you have taken the bike to??

I really must say that my experience with Triumph has been the complete opposite I brought a ex demo 2011 Speed Triple from a Midlands dealer and had issues that the LED indicators were not installed correctly as well as the wrong fuel map for the Arrow cans a couple of other things that were not right with the bike.

I took the bike to my local dealer Destination Triumph in Guildford and they not only sorted the issues out they also didn't charge me for the work (that all was charged to the dealer I brought the bike off) They also replaced two sets of headlight lens without any arguement and also took money off when they serviced the bike as they said it was so easy to work on being so clean.

I'm sure there are people who would tell you that they have good service from Kawasaki and even Aprilia, well I hope someone did because they were bloody awful to deal with as far as I am concerned (I had to wait 6 months for a part from Aprilia!!)

There are good and bad dealers about, Have you spoken to Triumph UK direct?

    Cheers

    Steve

The new dealer is fine. Not their fault. Yes I have spoken to Triumph UK several times. This particular Tiger 800XC has had the stepper motor, rocker cover, and head bearings changed under warranty. Whilst fixing the bearings it became obvious that the downpipes were cracked all on the welds. Triumph UK refused MCS permission to repair it even though their mechanic is Triumph trained. The week before the firm had been a Triumph dealer but had given up the franchise.
My first call to Triumph UK they agreed to arrange the Warranty repair and, after a robust discussion, have it picked up and taken to the nearest dealer. 80 miles from the old dealer. They agreed but then 'forgot' to tell the new dealer. A couple of weeks later and many phone calls they remember and approved the repair. Now I find the part is out of stock and I have been told a week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks. The old dealer would always supply a loan bike. The new dealer can't as it is Triumph UK's call. I have had to hire a car as there is no transport where I live.
Triumph UK don't care - my first call the sales guy said he wasn't bothered who complained as Triumph were still number 1 in the UK. So when I eventually get it back I will be about £1,000 out of pocket for vehicle hire. I'm still paying for the bike so have contacted the finance company and hope they will take it off my hands. I love the bike and the engine is a beaut but as I use a bike 360 days a year I need reliable- Triumph cannot provide that and to be honest don't care that they can't.
Time to try BMW I think - at least the dealer isn't 2 hours away.

Again sorry to hear all your problems, interestingly my 2014 Tiger 800 XC has also needed a new stepper motor under warranty.... hoping that is the only thing that goes wrong. My dealer gave me their Tiger 800 XC demo while it was off the road so no complaints really.

I went to MCS Renfrew in December to enquire about buying a brand new Bonnie, the sales guy only seemed interested in selling me a 2nd hand one, even though I stated several times I wanted new, something about him put me off and I went to Edinburgh even though they were twice as far away, I got a really good deal and customer service there and came away with a nice new Bonnie... I'm glad I didn't deal with MCS Renfrew now

Actually thinking about it the worst dealer I have come across was Portman's Kawasaki in Guildford.

I had a 2006 636 Ninja that the transmission went on it 4 weeks out of warranty, booked it in for them to look at it..... 6 weeks later, Yes your transmission is very sick and will need a rebuild... ok when will you be able to do that? (it was early April) end of March possibly... Oh but that will be the end of March the following year !!!
Anyway the conversation pretty much went down hill from there and there was some fairly colourful language on my part and Kawasaki UK were no help whatsoever.
Still annoys me thinking about it now

Update trading standards and finance company now pursuing MCS Renfrew even though Triumph UK are the arses.
