I just bought my first Triumph, it's a 1998 Daytona T595. I love the bike but notice that it kind of sounds like a weed wacker, does this have something to do with it only having 3 cylinders? I would like to get a new exhaust for it but don't know where to look. Something a little shorter would be nice but I don't want it too short that I loss the muffler and just have six inch turn out. Any advice or direction on where to look would be greatly appreiciated.

    Thank You

Hi and welcome to the forum

Have you got the stock exhaust on your bike as if your after another on I have a Blue Flame or a Laser that might be better if you have a high level exhaust they will sound a bit raspy due to the bend in the link pipe whereas straight pipes will not, something to do with the pressure and the way the exhaust gases move.

    Cheers

    Hi SteveJ,
Yes everything on the bike is stock, I'll have a picture of it on here shortly. I don't know much about either of those brands, but as long as it doesn't sound the way it does now I'll be happy. Do you have pics both the exhausts?

    Thank You

In my opinion the sound from the Triumph TOR sounded beaut. The standard exhaust does make it sound a wee sewing machineish.
Where abouts are you? I have my old Triumph TOR if you're interested. Regrettably I got rid of my 595. Couldn't trust myself to keep my licence.

I'm located in the Iowa, the Quad Cities. I'm not sure if I can trust myself either.
