Valve Spring Compressor

I have two bent valves in my 955i head - inlets of number 1 cylinder. Do I need a special valve spring compressor to remove the valves or will a generic C type work? Its a 1999 Sprint ST 955i by the way. I am contemplating getting another complete head though as it may be less work changing valves from a scrap head I have.
