If you’re interested in things with wheels or wings, then these two museums close to each other are a must see.
We saw motorbikes, and cars and Concorde and the Concorde copy the Tupolev TU144.
I took Cyril the campervan and we did 1000km round trip.
Anyway I made a YouTube video of the museums.

Wow Nikki, that’s some place you’ve found!! Anyway where exactly is it as it’s definitely worth a bike ride from the uk just for that on its own!!?

Thanks. It’s a good drive, especially in my slow campervan. It took over 6 hours to get there. The first museum is in Speyer and the other museum around 40 minutes away is in Sinsheim. If you watched the video to the end there was a map showing where they are. Basically close(ish) to Heidelberg. There’s hotels close to both. At the Speyer museum the hotel and campground were 5 mins walk away which was super handy. After the second museum I drove to Hirschhorn.
But yes fantastic museums. I can’t remember how I discovered them exactly. For a combined museum visit including a choice of IMAX films it cost 40 Euros. Both museums had restaurants.

My next museum Visit in a couple of weeks is to Laboe right in the very north of Germany near to Kiel, where there is a WW2 German submarine U995. I’ve always wondered what it’s like in one of them after watching “Das Boot”.

Finally got to Sinsheim a few years ago. Got told it would take 5hrs to get round! It did! Best museum I have been to. Its huge. Not to be missed, even SWMBO was impressed. Stayed in Heidelberg. Its sister is on the "to do" list. No question.

    "Where is the bloody pilot!!!???"

@BonnieCat I suppose you have been to the Tecnik Museum in Berlin I think it is called ? The one with the Dakota on the roof ? If not, that's well worth a visit with lot's of planes, trains and stuff. I particularly liked the Stuka with about 2,000 bullet holes and loads of patches.

Nope not seen that one. The Stuka in my video was fished out of the sea near Spain, hence its condition.
    Thanks for the suggestion.
