I have a new Trophy I got the dealership to fit my zumo 660 to it they told me there is no switched live to wire it to so the put it on to the battery I find it hard to believe that triumph have designed a bike gone to the bother of getting a mount to sell as a extra and not put a switched live to connect it to
Personally I think the dealership have taken the easy route any views on this

Bullshitters! There must be a switched live somewhere otherwise your bike would start without the ignition being on..... Surely?

Welcome... Have a look under the seat. There may be a plug with 2 looped wires in it. This Is the alarm connection plug. There is a switched live there you can use. That's where I got mine from and then ran the cables to the front.

Surely any electrical item on your bike that doesnt work with the ignition off has a switched live?

Yes that is correct But you have to take into account the load of the item or items you are adding , cable size and fuse rating...
Seen many badly wired stereos with undersized cabling heating the car up...
I know we are talking bike here but just make sure the switched live you are using can handle the extra load.
