Right, that does it - I've replaced every single part of both the front and rear brakes. Tried all the old wives tails about tying the lever back with a length of newts tail on a full moon etc, and the front brakes are still PANTS. Long lever travel, and nasty 'orrible spongy feel. I need firmness back in my life (for the brakes too).

Boys - I'm going 5/8" Master cylinder (although mine is a new original type from 'sprint'). I'm not on the Rich List, but I don't want cheap shite from China either. Advice, on 'what type' and 'where to find' needed please!

    Many thanks,

    Des (aka 'worried of Willen')

Sounds like it needs a rag or seal over the res and bleeding down with an airline stuffed in the top if it's a stubborn one like yours Vedic

Tried all that, and been struggling with it for months. My thoughts are that it's a dodgy new master cylinder, but Sprint whom I bought it from wouldn't have it. I'm now between the 'Devil and the Deep' and frankly don't know what to do next - except follow my gut feeling that it is in fact the Master Cylinder. Everything else in the system is new also, calipers all rebuilt, new braided lines - the works.

Hence my cry to arms to see if anyone has fitted an upgrade 5/8th cylinder, and to find out what it came from, and how it worked - not much luck to far, but I'm sure someone here has done such a conversion.

Thanks for you reply Tigcraft - much appreciated.

Thinking logically about it, if someone has replaced the master cylinder at some point and may have used a similar looking but wrong one for a single disc setup which would give that feel on yours so you could've right in replacing yours for a substitute one
