    Hi

I have been building a CRK Cafe racer kit based upon a trophy 900 1991 model

Bike nearly on the road, have had running ok in garage, carbs rebuilt, new jets etc and balanced up not able to try on road yet.

Ticks over perfectly and revs smoothly up to 4-5k then stutters a bit will rev higher although sounds rough after that although rev counter wont go past 7 k and flicks around bike is revving higher than 7 k though.

Have checked the readings for the coils and the crank pick with multi meter, any thoughts on what else to start with have heard that the rev counter is fed off no.1 cylinder coil? any thoughts before start replacing bits ?

    Thanks

swap the coils over, the misfire wont change but if the rev counter works right you have your problem

Old trick if you think it may a problem with the HT side of things .... fire it up in the dark and look for any stray sparks around the HT leads and plug caps - or anywhere else that sparks just shouldn't be.
