    NOW SOLD THANKS

    Triumph Thruxton 2014

A very reluctant sale of my Brooklands Green Triumph Thruxton due to working abroad and not having the time to appreciate it. The bike was first registered in July 2014 by the dealer, Destination Triumph, who kept it immaculate and then sold it to me in Feb 2015 when a Datatag set was applied. The first year service was undertaken by them in June 2015.

The current mileage stands at 2188 mls, but may increase slightly if we get some dry weekends whilst I am home....

Over the past year the Triumph has been something of a project where I have spent a fair bit of money fitting original optional and quality aftermarket parts, together with a few useful performance modifications. I have concentrated on the known shortcomings of the model and these would be something that a long-term owner would wish to address themselves. All the original parts have been retained and can be easily refitted if preferred:

Triumph Arrows 2:1 Ti full exhaust system with removable end can baffles, this is a freer breathing performance system, easily less than half the weight of the original, and just looks fantastic.

Bonneville tuning legend Bob Farnham performed a Stage 1 tune consisting of; secondary air injection system removal, a debaffled airbox with K&N filter, gas flowed and ported head with raised compression, and rolling road remap. This provides a very noticeable 7 bhp and ft/lb peak increase and removes the hesitancy and flat spots in the standard setup.

Hagon Nitro fully adjustable SS shocks with black anodised alloy parts are a vast improvement over the cheap and heavy stock items, and make the backend feel much more planted.

WilderFactory of California cafe racer single seat gives a nice narrow profile that makes the bike profile look much slimmer and lighter. The internal foam is a composite of progressive densities and is very comfortable. The rear pad folds down to convert the seat cowl into a useful discrete storage bin.

A discrete LSL engine crash protection kit, Hyde engine skid plate, and R&G oil cooler screen will help to save the bike from drops or other incidents.

Purely for aesthetics I put on an LSL open front sprocket cover, ignition relocation kit, billet oil filler cap, pillion footpeg blanks, tank kneepads, and nickel seat and side panel bolts.

Up front chrome clubman racer bars emulate clip-ons are fitted with brushed aluminium Oberon bar end mirrors. A braided steel front hose also helps to improve the brakes. Micro-bullet LED indicators are mounted on a slimmer front rectifier bracket and on the rear shock mounting points. A tail tidy kit with LED rear light finishes off the back end.

The bike is located in Hampshire.

This is a great project for someone to take further if they wish, return to stock, or to keep as is and enjoy a fully sorted, great looking, low mileage Thruxton that always draws praise.
