Hi my name is Mike and this is my first post, so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.
I am currently riding my UK registered Triumph Tiger Explorer in Argentina. I started in Buenos Aires and am currently in a campsite in Rada Tilly headed for Ushuaia. After that, who knows.
I was contacted by my UK Triumph dealer today, who told me my bike has been recalled by Triumph to have a new Electronic Control Module fitted.
My question is, does anyone have any experience of Triumph dealers in South America, the good, bad and indifferent?
I need to bring in to my thinking that at some in the future I could build in to my trip a visit to a dealer, but I’d like to know which one to aim for.
Included in any info you have would be whether the dealer speaks any English. I can get a beer and a pitch on a campsite, but my Spanish is going nowhere with getting a new ECM fitted under warranty.
My access to WiFi is patchy, so if you have been kind enough to respond and I have not replied, it is simple that I‘m off the grid.
As an aside, my travel blog is at 2wheeltravels | Mike's trip to South America.
    Many thanks for your help

Hi Mike and welcome to the forum.
I had quick look through your blog and it looks like a brilliant trip.

With regards to dealers in South America have a look at this website or even E Mail Triumph UK direct.

I will speak to a friend who has the same bike as you and see if he knows exactly what they are doing with the recall, I do know that all the UK bikes are been sent back to Hinckley to have the work done apart from that I couldn't tell you more until I get hold of him.

Good luck on the rest of your tour.

Thanks Steve that's really good of you.
i'm OK with where the dealers are. I'm really interested in finding the ones with a good reputation to do the work. I don't feel like I have to go to the closest, so I'm looking for a good one which i can build a visit into my trip.
Any extra info on the recall would be gratefully received.
    All the very best
    Mike

Just spoken to the guy who has the Explorer ha has got his back with new cam buckets and new exhaust as well as a few other bits and pieces that they have done, he did say that the bike has also been remapped but they forgot to reboot the tyre pressure sensors.

Hope the sun is still shining on your travels
