When I bought my Explorer in Oct 2015 I received 12 months Triumph Assist. When it ran out in Oct 2016 I was not contacted to renew it. In late December I realised I had no breakdown cover so I contacted the RAC who administer Triumph Assist and paid £75 for 12 months cover.

At least that's what I thought. My new card turned up today and it's cover for 2 years not 1.

Has anyone else experienced this? £75 for 2 years cover should good value.

Seems very cheap Rooster but as DD says it does depend on the level of service you have
will be good to hear exactly what is covered in your policy

Mystery solved. It's for 1 year, breakdown, recovery, lost keys etc within GB. For me in any vehicle.

The covering letter said 2 years but the renewal date was in 1 year. I gave them a call, ands it's defiantly only for 1 year. There are not sure why the letter said 2 but are re issuing it.

So I have been wondering how to proceed as well... same scenario but want to go to Europe on the Tiger. Are you expanding to include that - I looked into various options, including AA and they wouldn't recover in the event of a Road traffic incident - only breakdown. So I am thinking it's better to try and have one connected with the insurance company? Anyone have thoughts? I am now insured through Surety (trying to get advanced rider - IAM- discount) but it all looked very expensive to add on....

Dozer's Dad pays about £80 per year ? I think I may be being ripped off then. I've just got my RAC renewal letter asking for £ 280.00. This covers me and the wife for Roadside, Recovery & At Home Rescue (6 call-outs each).
We've both got cars as well as my new T120 - the only time I've used the service in the last few years is for being picked up following punctures on whatever bike I've had at the time !
Do you reckon this is expensive ?

I use Gem Assist and it covers me in any vehicle So covered on my bike, car and motorhome. cant remember exactly but paid around 120 quid for the year.
Never had to use them at all the last 3 years or so therefore cant say how good they are when the brown stuff hits the fan

Went online and got quote from AA at 50% of RAC renewal price for identical cover. Looks like I'm switching...

I'm sure I've mentioned this somewhere in here before but I pay £18 a year with rescuemycar.com:)
This is for my BPOS only and covers me for accident and breakdown so I know that if the worst happens at least I'll get myself and the bike home :p
As good as £18 sounds....their is a catch however :(
If I have to use them then their is a call out charge of £40ish :(
Been with them for about 10yrs now and have never had to call upon them for assistance :)
But at only £18 I'll stick with them and hope I never need them :p
Better than paying mega bucks to one of the other big name rescue companies for something I haven't needed for 10yrs:cool:
How many times have you needed to be rescued in the last 10yrs?.....add 10yrs cover together and if you did need to be rescued....how much did it actually cost you???
    10yrs cover for me £180:cool:
Like they say in advertising....you do the maths :p

I like you're thinking dilligaf, have you thought about saving the £18/yr. as well ? :p

May I suggest a lesson in the use of a jack and wheel brace, unless of course you cherish your 'Me' time while your Mrs has to wait half a day for the RAC. :p

Yeah I know what you're saying....£18 a year is a lot to pay:p especially when I've never needed them
But I got breakdown and accident cover after I binned my CBR1000 10yrs ago:(
Sitting at the side of the road with a bust shoulder and oil spilling out of the bust engine casing and about 100mls from home....is not a nice situation to be in :(
