Well guess who had a few beers and got on a computer!!
I got this, item Id 392587796660, off ebay, China again! £18 incl postage! It’s just so I could have a quick check of pressures without the hassle of getting the tyre gauge out etc etc
    1634623A-E3DA-4E52-9C19-3F088B95DA06.jpeg
basically 2 sensors, one for the front tyre and one for the other one! and a read out screen and a clamp, but I won’t be using that
    66F6FA4C-3FD0-4410-B65E-622042CC4DC3.jpeg
Instructions are pretty simple and basic, telling you how to set up the options on the monitor and to calibrate the sensor, you get there in the end!
The black gnarled thing is a kind of spanner to separate the sensor so you can get to the battery.
The 2 brass nuts are put on the valve before the sensor to stop you over tightening it.

once you’ve pumped your tyres up, doh! Fit your sensor and the monitor picks up the readings
    BC151F66-066C-4ED1-B8FE-19088FAA1E28.jpeg
not terribly bright, the screen, before you pass comment!
And not terribly accurate the front seems 4 psi down and the rear 2 down, but once you know this you know where you stand!
I was worried that the sensors, being less than subtle, would affect the wheel balance but after a ride down the A3 at speeds that varied:kissing::kissing:
    I didn’t notice anything.
I think I might go and look at the bikes for sale section now:confounded:

Hope it doesn’t fatigue your valve stems like it did on one of my bikes with the centrifugal weight force bending over the faster you get @crispey

They are metal right angle stems so hope they should be ok shouldnt they?. but worth notng ta.
I suppose there are the type that just change colour but are they just as big? these they do look smaller, anybody used them, I know you can choose different pressure ranges

I didn’t use pressure sensors, all I had were convenience 90” valve extensions to aid inflation although not my choice as they came with the bike but I never gave it any thought till my tyre went flat on the M62!!

I purchased some for my brother and he liked them.
I had some battery powered ones,https://www.triumphperformanceparts.com.au/tyrecheckers-led-tyre-pressure-monitor ,but they didn’t last

Maybe sometimes it can't be avoided but I for one will be making a conscious effort not to plenty of other countries make things at the moment and if we don't make the effort soon there will be no choice

Not the first time Ade so don’t worry. Do you reckon the metal valves will/might rip out then? They aren’t extensions

Well I took her out for a spin and the balance seemed alright but going on what people are saying on here I might sell them off cheap to some vulnerable pensioner.... @Tiglet ????

You sold me a brilliant Satnav but I’ve been advised by @steve lovatt that I must have been lucky with that purchase ;):)

My old chinese ‘copy’ bike with my M62 quick valve repair..... A857276B-34A1-4DA6-B631-B20EECB7B242.jpeg A3915B69-62D5-4BD7-924E-F5732F907D26.jpeg Bit dark to see but an AA man passing helped me try to just get off the motorway with cable ties to keep pressure in...

He’s the one that suggested you might want them coz your old knees couldn’t get you down there to check the tyre pressures anymore!
