I’ve just made and fitted a tool tube to my explorer 1200. I’ve put a small tool kit together for minor jobs to get me out of a jam but nothing serious.
    List:
    8, 12, 14 & 15mm spanner
    5, 6mm Allen key
    Class of torx keys
    Flip knife
2 flat and 1 post driver
    Long nose pliers
    Adjustable spanner
    Tie wraps
    Tape

Any recommendations of things to add or even get rid of?

Thanks mate. I’ve modded it slightly since the pic. I have filed the pipe so the metal tube sits in better and used some Velcro straps to fasten it to the frame. It’s a lot more sturdy now.

 Could be the angle of the picture but to me it looks like it could be hit by the rear tyre

Agree with Dilli, how much travel do you have on the suspension?
