I was washing the bike when I noticed the motor for the rear suspension in an unusual position

the motor is kind of heavy to be hanging from the flimsy clamp, it broke both sides from these 2 positions

the bracket is soldered to the chasis ...

and my bike is out of warranty

so ... time to get creative , good thing the location is fairly accesible

some of the broken ends are starting to rust and I've been complaining at each service about an odd clanking noise in the rear suspension, this might be it

will it hold ? time will tell

threading the bolts in such cramped space tested my patience

I do not know since when this ws hanging loose
the rear spring is a bit scratched

Used zip ties to hold the motor while screwing things together, there is the area that the motor banged against the spring

I did a test ride and everything is working , preload, etc

A simple enough welding job by someone competent but I must agree, that bracket looks far too flimsy for its purpose.

Another prime example of " value engineering " at it's finest, come on Triumph get your act together!

Bikes designed by accountants over engineers is never going to end well!

I was able to order the spare cap, lead time 6 weeks

I spoke with the main mechanic he mentioned those caps are often lost and recommended using some silicon when the new one arrives

About my fix he did not seem to optimistic it will last, and mentioned that in order to weld the support back in place half of the bike has to be dissassembled
