Tiger 800 3013 - Tyre recommendations

I took my Tiger 800 in for its first MoT this week, and didn't expect any problems. I bought it last August with only 320 miles on the clock (on a 2-year old bike!), and I've increased that to 3,900. So I was surprised to be told that the front tyre walls are cracking (maybe because it sat unused for so long before I bought it). As it happened, the cracking was not bad enough to fail, but I don't want to risk riding it too much longer on the current one.

The current tyres are Pirelli Scorpions. What's good for road riding and touring (definitely no off-road riding)? I'm suppose I need to change both if I go for a different make - and probably should change both anyway. Still good tread and not squaring off yet.

I have looked at the thread from last year, but wanted to see if there are any new opinions.
