The DFT were giving them away free but have stopped for time being.

You could order up to 10 free of charge.

Unfortunately it needs something more that stickers, IMO the car test should include a safety section devoted to understanding the foibles of riding a bike and what to watch out for, and how and why bikes are ridden the way they are.

@Tricky-Dicky I couldn't agree more. You know how it is though, pass the test, get in the bubble and do what you want. Training all goes out of the window once they're on their own, or showing off to their chummies.

True! perhaps some for of blanket safety test that applied to all drivers once every few years to keep people on their toes....mind you some of the bike riders i see these days leave me thinking its all a waste of time.

Maybe making an advanced driving / riding test compulsory ( like the Rospa every 3 years ) to get an insurance reduction would be a step in the right direction ?

If it was compulsory then there would be no insurance reductions as everybody would be at the same level, similarly trying to make everyone take their CBT or bike licence wouldn't work or be advisable as you are just giving everyone the option of riding a bike regardless of ability, competence or confidence thus driving up (excuse the pun) the bike accident stats.
Just some bike aware section in the theory/ practical tests would be a much better use of resources in my simple opinion :cool:

When I learned to ride a bike I had the idea of the life saver check drilled into me so that it became a habit. Even when in the car.
Very glad it was because it has saved my life on many occasions.
Shame the same isn't done for car drivers.

Here we go..IMO Everyone ought to take a bike test Before they can take a car test!! IMHO thats the only way the morons out there will look for & understand motorcycles PLUS IMHO make them better car drivers. The ones that fail we dont want on the roads anyway LOL...:bomb::bomb::bomb:Away......Im only sayin...
