The Motorcycle Tv Show

Yes it is a repeat of the series which was first aired last year. You may not like Mr Cole but it is an interesting watch just to see the genius that is Alan Millyard at work!

 

I think any show on national TV extolling the virtues about bikes has got to be a good thing, whoever is presenting it.

 

I don't know is they're still on, but we had two mc related shows over on this side of the pond. They were mainly about building bikes that were special orders for celebrities and tribute bikes (9/11 memorials and such). They would drop crate engines into frames, usually clones of Harley style V Twins. One was the asshats on Orange County Choppers. The builds were often useless, fantasy motorcycles and they'd engage staged in family drama. The other featured builder Jesse James, who, if the show was to be believed, appeared to be a pretty talented metal fabricator. He was also producing stupid looking (for the most part) impractical bikes. I keep wishing someone would produce a straight motorcycle related show featuring reviews of bikes of all makes, old and new, rides and engine builds.

 

Sounds like you need someone like Henry Cole

 

Without Henry Cole....we would have no bike shows on TV.....Without Henry Cole you would not be here asking questions.

My god.....there are far far worse people on TV....myself I think he is great...met the guy in person....real down to earth man.

Cole phobia aside, I do quite like the format and most of the content of the program although their choice of machines for restoration wouldn't be mine. In the last series they restored and raved about a "famous", chopper type thingy which I'd rather vomit on than sit on. What a pile of shite. JMO

I think Cole and Millyard set the two up record on that V10 thing that Millyard built but not heard anything about a V8 record. Sam Lovegrove is my favourite presenter on the program when he's on and in the Shed and Buried series when he and Cole find old bikes hidden away and rescue them.

 

This is Alan Millyard's 6 cyl Z1, taken at a local bike show around 18 months ago. If you didn't know it's history you'd say it was a factory bike it looked that good.
