I agree, anyplace, any country, any continent.
It's a world war..... just not in the traditional sense.

A war of ideas maybe but not even a counter insurgency; they are too few. Salafist ideology has been pooping up every hundred years or so and appeals to minor criminals, boozers and druggies who feel the inadequacy of their 'heritage' and themselves and seek some bizarre redemption in cowardly murder of the people they fear and admire in equal measure. Terminally confused losers......... They need to be denied the sanctuary of their self imposed apartheid within which their victimhood narrative makes superficial sense.

What can a 'copper' do with a baton against 3 blokes with machetés - the police on the ground need to be armed to neutralise a threat instantly.

However this is only dealing with the consequence of a long period of our (the West) actions dabbling in the Middle East over many many years. We have created fertile ground to recruit supporters of this movement.

They are not right in what they do, but neither are we innocent..............................................

It occurred to me early this morning that years ago, when we had the IRA terror campaign, whenever an IRA bomb went off on the mainland i.e. London / Manchester etc I don't seem to remember there being wall to wall coverage for a week aferwards like we have now.

The incident was reported in the news and we quickly moved on.................. I'm wondering why has this changed now??

They say terrorists need publicity........well, they're certainly getting plenty of that these days!!

its mainly down to social media keeping the story going and there seems to be more emphasis on memorials nowadays.
