T140 Steering Stem Nut

    Hi guys having trouble fitting stem nut on top yoke any ideas please

    Welcome to the family. Yes some more info would be nice. From memory you loosen up the top yoke and screw it down then torque up the top yoke again which locks it in place. That's if it is the chrome dome nut you are talking about. And when I say loosen up the top yoke I mean the one nut that sits in front of the tank on the yoke. Careful with it as you can end up chipping your paint work.

    thanks for your reply.No not crossed threaded, when you push nut into the york it seems to close the thread so you cannot get a start on the stem

    Yes the chrome nut that goes onto the stem. its almost like when you push nut into top york it makes the inside dia. of the nut smaller

    Smilinjack was spot on had hammer the shit out of it to open the gap, stem nut goes through now. Many thanks Guys
