    Hello all,
I'm trying to work out the best way to fulfil my quest for a totally matte-black T120 that I have on order.
I've discovered that only the T100 Black has the option for a matt-black paint finish on the tank, fenders and side panels. The T120 Black only has the option for a gloss 'jet black' and this bothers me because the rest of the components on the T120 Black are a matte black finish.

My question is this: would I be able to take the tank from a T100 and fit it to a T120. Side panels and fenders apparently wouldn't be an issue.

I'd rather not buy a stock T120 and respray everything. It seems a bit unnecessary, especially if the parts from both bikes are interchangeable.

Any help, advice or previous experience would be most welcomed.

If I understand correctly you have a new T120 on order and you want the tank to be matte black?

If that's correct have you considered wrapping the tank that comes with the bike? The advantage here would be that you can remove the wrap later if you don't like the look, or you want to sell the bike as original.

    That's correct!
I have considered vinyl but I was wondering if there was a way in which I could convince the dealership to deliver it in the spec/colour way I want. The fact that that T100 is available in matte black makes me wonder...

I know that you said that you didn't want to respray but....

When I bought mine the dealer in London arranged a respray with their own body shop so it was delivered to me, new, in the colour I wanted. From memory they charged about £500 but then I didn't have to faff about with tank badges, stickers, knee pads etc. I managed to negotiate a bit of a discount on the bike which covered the cost of the respray.

    Thanks Mach1.
Where did you buy it? Metropolis?

Their first response was to offer a respray (good to know about the discount!).
I'm trying to discover if already available parts that are already in the right finish will fit.

Yes, it was Metropolis @ Vauxhall. Dealt with the main Triumph guy there, can't remember his name but he was good for getting things sorted.

Good luck whatever you decide to do & don't forget to post some images when done.
