    Hi folks,

    Two-part question here.

Stopped today for gas after a 30 minute ride on the highway and noticed a lot of condensation on the primary cover with steam coming off it.

It’s hot today in Toronto at about 23 celsius but this level of condensation and steam to me seemed worrisome. Is this normal?

I turned around to head home and ten minutes later at a stop light I looked down to see oil absolutely spitting/bubbling out of the pivot-end of the clutch release mechanism arm. Disconcerting. Made a beeline home.

On a related note, I just changed the oil last week and put in Castrol 10W-40 semi-synthetic as per my Haynes manual.

Am I just looking at a new release mechanism seal and primary cover gasket or do I have bigger problems?

Thanks all! Cheers and happy riding.

Apologies for not including this in my initial. It’s a 2010. Air-cooled.

I did not measure the quantity of fresh oil I used. Filled it up to in between the marks in the sight glass, turned it on and let it run for 5 minutes, and then topped it back up to the middle of the marks again.

I always fill my 2010 to the top of the level. And touch wood it runs great and never seems to over heat at all. Touch wood again
    Regards
    Joe.
