hi everyone, I have a 2012 speedy with full service history with 15000 miles on the clock. As it seems to be quite common for the swinging arm and rear hub to be missed at a service can anyone advise if it is easy to check and what is involved, or am I better off just asking the dealer to specifically check these items, if so what is the likely cost? Many thanks Lou

A basic description may be something like :- lift rear wheel off the ground ,centre stand or jack and blocks, take hold of wheel at front and back and move side to side, there should be no movement check suspension for leeks and move wheel up and down look for smooth movement with no catches or rough spots to check swing arm more thoroughly remove wheel disengage suspension and move by hand to check for play. When you are this far in you may as well grease and check bearings by removing swing arm
Please do not take my word for this get confirmation !

Sounds like the stub axle/hub is well overdue. It is 12k miles or 2 years whichever comes 1st. Expect some bushings to have failed. It's a easy job if you have the correct tools and been done regularly. A right pain if you don't. As far as the pivot. There is no mention of it in the service schedule or anywhere else but it could be advised on best practice. All the bushings, bearings and seals are not cheap. Bowl of mice gives some good advice for home service on stub axle etc
