    Hi all,
New to bikes and new to triumph. Just acquire a bonneville 2017 (black) as my first and hopefully last bike! Planning on taking it on some big trips as well as general riding run through great parts of the UK, im 24 and keen on adventure, living between London and Wiltshire near Swindon.

I've been looking for anyones insight on here in how one supports a usb cable from the usb port under the seat towards the handle bars. I've seen the you can fit over the engine (under the black bit in front of your seat) - i've managed to pass it to the handlebars easily by passing round the black but it is very loose and not secure.

Does anyone have a trick or photo evidence of how they have done it. My phone is dead at the moment but will add pictures when fixed!

all the best to you triumph people!

    Rob

Hi Rob and Welcome to the Forum, can't help you with the USB problem but I am sure someone will be along who has a solution, enjoy the bike, look forward to the photos when your phone is charged ..... what you need is a USB lead on the bike! :D:p:laughing:

Hi and welcome, enjoy your new bike. I agree with Tiglet it is very unlikely that it will be your last one. However, for now I'm sure you will have loads of fun leading onto your next great Triumph......

Welcome aboard Rob. Enjoy the ride mate. As Andy said, lift the tank, secure the lead with cable ties, ensuring there is enough play when the bars are turned fully on lock. btw, I work in a dealership, and as I've mentioned in another thread, I can let you have a genuine Triumph cable tie, individually packaged, for only 54p (including vat and forum 10% discount).;)

    Yeah, right.

I've done this on my Bonnie SE. As Andy and Rich have said, its best to lift the tank and secure the cable to the frame with cable ties. No big deal, if you support the tank on a small block of wood you won't need to disconnect the fuel line.

I have two different cables (1 for GPS, 1 for Phone) cable tied to other cables running under the tank. I was able to secure them without removing tank.

    Hi and welcome.
I assume that the USB is 5 volts, what are you going to use it for satnav?

hi all, Thanks for the replies. Haven't tried the cable ties yet but sounds like the best option - will give a go and post some photos up for any other curious if it is successful. Just using for a phone linked to a holder. Quite like going rouge and seeing where my nose takes me using the sun etc to guide rough direction but always helpful to find the quickest way home..

Been a good 500 miles, ready for the first service!
