I went for my first ride today

Quick question: I have a 2018 Street Twin is it worth putting in Super Unleaded or just plain old regular

I run super (98) in all my vehicle's , always have , I have experienced nothing but positive better running, one of my car's did 100 + thousand klm on original plugs ! I do oil changes myself, and as a mechanic I see much cleaner oils coming out on vehicle's running 98 than std 91 .
Make your own mind up , I experience better running and fuel mileage too .

For the few extra pennies it’s going to cost then why not? But this will open up the old discussion about which companies put normal fuel int the super fuel pumps, yaddi yaddi ya! So my advice is if you find a pump that actually has super in it and not kerosene then for the extra few pence what does it matter?

I also have a Street Twin. Per the owners manual the bike is 'engineered' to use regular. But it also says if you notice any knocking to use a higher grade. Under normal and easy on the gas riding should be ok. But if you were, for example, going up a steep hill and accelerating, you might notice a bit of knocking when the engine is under high load.

I always use super to be on the safe side. Costs a bit more but at 65 mpg no big deal.

I have used all grades in my TTR and have not noticed any difference so I just use the middle grade her in the US- 89oct. Why waste $$

I've started using super unleaded over the last few fill ups, noticed a lot smoother running, more mpg too.
But, I have a carb'd TBS, which could be more sensitive to the higher octane?

    Snake Oil.

Unless you've got knock sensors, Nissan GTR, etc, waste of money.

But, your money, you spend it how you like, if it makes you happy, you pay the extra.

My car runs nicer after a full interior and exterior valet. Fuck all to do with the car, but it's just a nicer place to be, so therefore I'm happy and it feels like a better car. Placebo effect, same as 'super' fuels.

Back on topic, I put super in all my vehicles, unless desperate and they don't have it available. I'd also not run anything other than super in a bike with a plastic tank when I have had bikes with them as the ethanol causes issues with the paint and tank swelling.

I used to go to a local hand car wash (bristol) that had a super reputation and would get any crap off, even tar, so I asked the owner what they used and he said FB65, "what's that then" , said then sucker, "well FB stands for F**king Brilliant and 65 is the number of my house!

Look up Autosmart Tardis, supposedly the dog's at getting tar, etc off. I use their cherry glaze, as a quick polish, very good and smells nice too.

Thanks for the info, and as it happens cherry is my favourite fruit pie, as is cherry cake actually, especially if it has kirsch in it, in fact pretty much any fruit with alcohol, which probably explains a lot...
