I noticed recently that the side stand is difficult to deploy whilst sat on the bike.
Further investigation shows that the side stand is interfering with the centre stand (or vice versa), by that i mean that when the side stand is pushed out, the end rubs against the frame of the center stand, it doesn't look to be much but makes it very difficult to push the side stand out

I'm sure this didn't happen when it was first fitted?!

Also doesn't look like there is any adjustment to be had on either, they just bolt to the frame in the fixed places

    :scream:

Something has to have gotten bent there for the two stands to catch.

Needs a ‘tool fine adjusting’. That’s a 4lb lump hammer if you are not ex military.

Just been out and had another look, certainly nothing obviously bent.

Although when i look at how the stand is attached to the frame it is to the left of both of the frame lugs when viewed from the rear. by that i mean the lug on the stand is on the outside of the frame lug (side stand side) and the lug on the stand is on the inside of the frame lug (on the brake pedal side) cant find any info online to suggest whether or not that is correct :s

It does look like someone else had a similar problem:

    A TEC part that doesn't fit properly....hmmm
I had one of their X pipes, I think the 'not UK based' fabricator was having an off day. Not even close to fitting so it got sent back.

Accepting that this is a minor adjustment, but all the same.

No way one their cams will ever get near my bike if they can't control simple stuff like these issues.

I'd notch out the centre stand. It's a big slug of metal so it'll take it and you won't see it. Every time you lower the side stand you'll look at the filed off tip and have 'thoughts'.

Well, I finally got round to sorting this sucker out, 8 months later.

Got myself a metal grinder and took a few mm off the end, filed it smooth by hand and finished with hammerite 'hammered finish' gloss black on the whole stand for good measure.

Looks pretty tidy to me :)
