We have a 2002 RS which has a constant smell of fuel.
Can't see any obvious leaks, how should we start investigating this problem?
Is it a known issue with these bikes?
Other than that the bike is well maintained and rides spot on.
    Thanks for any advice.

Hi ck_uk and welcome. It is normal protocol on this site for newbies to go first to the Newbie section to introduce themselves so they can be welcomed by other members.

Re the fuel smell problem it could be a number of different issues, but I would start with checking the vent pipe to make sure it is clear.

Hi. I had a RS Sprint from new for a few years. It may be worth checking under the tank as the connection pipes for the fuel are a hard type plastic & tend to degrade with time & if they have been disturbed for some reason they can fracture due to age.
Mine fractured whilst I was riding but luckily I spotted it & pulled over....AA relay jobby home though.
Good luck, hope you find the source of the smell.

I had a SprintST955i back around 2000, there was an issue with fuel leaks (mine did) where the wires come out of the fuel gauge sender unit in the bottom of the tank. Might be worth a look there if you don't trace the problem elsewhere. (Seem to remember Triumph doing a recall on the sender unit)
