    only just survived you can see my knee in the corner of the pic, strange crash please no laughs it was a bird strike, coming around corner in usk south wales visor open a bird flew straight in to me which made me jump causing me to hit the back brake , hence broadsiding around corner in to a barrier bush tree and then the tarmac, and thank god i had all my protected armour on no broken bone just server bruising. oh and my pride

    Hi Kevin, sorry to hear about your 'tumble' - reminded me of a scene in "Wild Hogs".

    Anyway, re the insurance side of things may I offer you the following thoughts:

    1. Assuming you have Fully Comp insurance - they will make you an offer assuming they write off the bike. DO NOT accept the 1st offer. Gather evidence to show the true market value of your bike so you can argue for a higher figure;

    2. Ask them if they will continue the policy to cover your replacement bike. They will probably say no, but ask anyway.

    3. Include all damages in your claim: - clothing/helmet/luggage etc.
