Hi I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a magnetic tank bag suitable for the speed twin please? Ideally one that suits the modern classic look. I’ve seen the burly one and it looks good if a little pricey; if anyone has any experience of the burly please let me know how you find it.
    Thanks

Hi I had a triumph tank bag on my speed twin. It was only £48 which I thought a bargin and was attached with straps which IMO is much better and more secure than magnatic fixing.

Hi thanks for the info. I seen the triumph one but didn’t like the idea of the straps permanently fixed at the headstock. It looked like the straps might rub the frame also?
the Sw motech looks like a nice solution. I will have a look at that one

The straps do not really rub on the headstock. A strap on tank bag is much better than a magnetic one. The problem with the magnetic base is that if a piece of grit or anything else gets trapped under the base the tank gets scratched.

Thanks for the reply. I get what you mean but could this not happen similarly to a non magnetic tank bag ? My thinking is any piece of grit sandwiched between paint and material is always going to cause damage ?

I always had a piece of felt cut to shape as a buffer. Best plan though, don’t use a tank bag, use a rear rack and/or a topbox

The Legend bag give you a clear film to apply to tank as a precaution, I’ve not bothered

I have never been happy with the 'look' of tank bags. But they are there for function, not looks. Have you thought about panniers? See below on my Street Twin which is a similar looking bike to the Speed Twin. I can carry all my stuff and they look great in my opinion.

I’ve been using this one for a couple of months in all weathers. Sticks like glue and no scratching (so far!)
