As per a previous post, I have managed to get hold of an expedition top box and was given, at the same time, the two parts of the sliding carriage (part numbers in title). These came without the buffer rubbers, bracket and associated screws/bolt that hold the two plates together. Triumph do not seem to supply these parts separately? Just wondered whether anybody has a sliding carriage kit they wish to sell or the missing parts that I need? Would be a shame to ditch the two plates for the want of a few parts. I have posted this on the Tiger 800 forum as well.

    Thanks

Not unhelpful at all Stinger and thank you for the time to respond at all - I had thought about rigidly fixing the two plates together but just wondered whether anybody knew how to get hold of the correct rubbers etc. Pictures show the pieces I have. The aluminium plates has the securing bobbins and end stop but I cannot order separately the rubbers and washers (all the parts that are not numbered in the exploded diagram). I may resort to filing down rubber blocks to fit but would be much easier if I could get these parts as a set. (You'll notice that the previous owner had drilled countersunk holes in the aluminium plate to fit (I think he said) a Givi top box).

Today received a package kindly sent by Tallpaul with exactly the parts that were needed. I am very grateful. After a ride out and meeting some buddies, started the tortuous process of assembling. I had been warned but who knew there were so many combinations of washers, PTFE washers, nuts, allen screws and sundry items? Finally mastered it and, although it doesn't look quite right with the top box facing backwards, I'm sure after a couple of months it will still look horrendous. If anybody else should need advice on doing the same please hesitate to call me. Will also post this in the other place.

Thanks very much Tallpaul - I am sincerely very grateful.

I just purchased a Brand New Triumph Top Box model A9500606 that I am planning to mount on the back on my 2003 BMW R1150GS. I got the box on ebay for only $150 and to my horror the Sliding Carriage Kit is $250. I realize that this kit only applies to mounting the box on the Triuph 800 but the top half of this mount (the part that slides in to the box), can easily be adapted to any flat luggage rack. Does anyone know if this top piece is available separately or if the the 2 hooks and the latch piece can be purchased which could then be mounted to a flat luggage rack...
    Thanks!
