'James Bond' Roger Moore has died of the big 'C' in Switzerland aged 89.
I liked him as probably the best J.B. but also as the Saint, and with Tony Curtiss in 'The Persuaders'.
    RIP Roger Moore.
Today of all days, what a terrible day!

Me too - watched him in the Saint, 7 (I think) Bond movies and The Persuaders. He always came across in interviews as a nice person who recognised his great run of luck and was happy. RIP Roger - you are a real STAR.

I saw that on the news tonight, I remember Ivanhoe, but didn't realize it was him in the lead role.
Robin Hood was bigger at the time I think, with Richard Greene I think, and that fat bloke as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Come to think of it the 'fat bloke' may have been in William Tell, it was a long time ago so I have a good excuse for getting them mixed up!

The Persuaders was one of my all time favorite tv-series...

Those two actors together, the great cars AND the German translation. Usually this sucks big time and therefore, I prefer the OV. But in this case, some total whacko took the liberty and partly made them talk in rhymes.... It was hilarious. Coming close to Monty Python :yum
Later I saw the OV and was pretty disappointed: it was all so straight forward.

And then the Spy Who Loved Me. My first 007 in cinema. Great times!!!

Loved The Saint and The Persuaders - even saw him switch on Morecombe illuminations with my Gran in the 60's
