When I look at the back of my bike, it seems the silencers are slightly out of line height-wise with each other (only fractionally, but nevertheless noticeable). When I took it for its 500m service I mentioned it to the service guy and he said he'd check it out. Whilst waiting for the service to be done, I looked at another T120 they had in the shop and it was the same i.e. the off-side silencer was very slightly higher set than the near side, which suggests they may be "all like that sir". Anyone else notice this ?
Incidentally, dealer couldn't do anything with it.

Hi, i have my T120 on order but i too spotted this quirk. Quite why Triumph have let this slip through is beyond me when the rest of the bike is so equisite. The demo bike looked like it had fallen over they were so out of whack! Anyhow i shall be shimming and enlarging mounting holes to make sure mine are 'spot on'. ;)

I have a Yorshireman's Tweezer, aka 5lb lump hammer, lurking in my tool box if it is needed!:D:D

Yup the standard silencers are definitely not level. The left hand one has both a rubber bump stop for the centre stand and an extra fixing point next to it compared to the right hand side. Having changed to the Remus ones which use the same fixing points they appear level so I think there's something amiss with the
OE ones. Has anyone who's fitted the Vance and Hines seen any difference ?
Not good on a 10 grand bike really and as I said elsewhere over also got a vast improvement to the ride after fitting better rear shocks compared to standard ones. I still forgive them though as I truly love this bike !

    John,
How much were the Remus cans and what's the noise like ?
Have you got a pic other than the little one above ?
    Cheers

I have ordered the V&H exhaust with mine because i figure i would probably get them anyway so it makes sense to get Triumph to set the ECU up properly from the start as they are an official accessory. I saw a cherry red T120 at Barton bike night with chrome V&H on and they looked sweet and Symmetrical. Didnt get to hear them BUT the standard sound is lovely so i figure they cannot do anything other than make it even better. Hope so!

Just been cleaning and polishing and in good light and bike level I could see the off side Remus can is still a bit higher than the other side contrary to what I thought the other day
So with tape measure in hand I think the reason is the right hand pillion peg and silencer bracket is about 5mm higher than the other side as measured relative to the top mountings on the shocks.
Would someone care to try a measure and see if I'm losing my marbles (and eyesight !)
as an aside there isn't a remap for The Vance and Hines or indeed anything else at the moment as far as I'm aware.

Hi John. Re the ecu remap i am only going on what the Triumph guy said. It wasnt something i was asking about he told me actually quite matter of fact. I have seen that when bikes are unboxed and set up they do plug a laptop into them, i presume thats what he means. TBH because the exhaust style, dimensions etc are so similar maybe the bike doesnt need anything over stock, i am sure though as an official accessory it must be fine.

Hi Jboy you're right what you say the bikes need to be booted up by the dealer as part of the pdi process before they will start. However there are no different maps for the V and H pipes or indeed for any other accessory at the moment. I believe the bikes come in bog standard then accessories including the inspiration packs are done at dealer level. Wonder what happens to the bits that come off ........ Certainly no trade in value !

TBH I certainly hope I get them to keep. At least then should I scratch one or something I'll have a mint pair of spare OE waiting to go on! How many T120's are out there, I have only seen one so far 'out in the wild' so to speak?

When I got my accessories fitted before taking delivery, I got the originals given back to me, just in case I wanted to return the bike to standard, so you certainly should get the OE exhausts to keep.
