Hi everybody. I think the problems I been having is from the valve clearance. As on 5 of them I can't get a 0.15 feeler under them. What size shims should they be?

    Cheers

Hi all having similar problems, when warm bike not keen on restarting! just did valve check and need to do some adjustment on inlet shims. exhaust side ok and in tolerance.
Pulled inlet cam and have all existing shim sizes so ready to go.

Do tables exist anywhere to assist with this or is it all down to maths?

inlet valves 1-8 measured and valves 1,2 and 5 tight rest are ok in spec .20 or .18:
    Shims on 1,2&5 are 260, 262, 262. clearances measure .127, .127 & .152
by my calculation to bring theses back into spec (0.15 - 0.25 Range)
I need to thin out shims and reckon that i need to re- shim as follows:
    Numbers 1&2 require 2.50 and 5 requires 2.55
your thoughts please gentlemen before i part company with my cash .

sorry S Rigett not hijacking your thread but were both doing the same thing so it might help. :)
