Watcha Now I've got me new bike the service light is on because it's gone over the year (came on in April but he hasn't been riding it) the mileage is just over 4k, so do I get it serviced now, or wait till she gets to 6k? bearing in mind that I don't do a huge amount of miles cos of me arthritis, and currently not working so no commute. Also, when it was ordered it came with grab handles/undertray and pillion seat as an optional extra, don't suppose anyone wants to swap for a cowl/undertray (765rs 2019 matt black)? .
If it is under warranty, or you just want to show correct service history, then you may need to get the service in now, as service intervals are by mileage or year which ever occurs first. If not under warranty and you can perform basic servicing yourself, then do the service, and get a copy of TuneECU and reset the service indicator yourself.
Fanks, it's still got warranty until next year so I suppose I'll book it in now, for the rest I think I'll wait until it's reached the mileage rather than the year otherwise it will end up having had its 12k major service with only 8k on the clock I will do an annual service on it aswell
As my bikes are long out of warranty, I do the basic servicing on them, but for the major service intervals (e.g. 12k) I will take them to a specialist. These videos may be of interest, I found them useful: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKVpdcDwGh-ewvEagIdyC8IH5Ei_sFxD9
