My 2011 speed triple pops, bangs and crackles obscenely on over run. Now I love a fruity exhaust, but this sounds like a boy racers astra turbo.
Anyone had any experience of either of the baffles on eBay. One is perf' tube that fits in the outlet of the can, one is a honeycomb that fits in the inlet. Hoping that one or both fitted will give enough back pressure to cure the lean running.
Also do I need to check the ECU mapping some how? can these be reprogrammed or does it need a aftermarket controller?
    Thanks. Matt.

Hi Matt, what pipes/cans do you have on the bike now?
    Have the baffled been removed?

Its a full arrow race system, no baffles.

Thanks Matt, makes sense. The less back pressure the more overrun. I have minimal baffle and so some popping.
Can’t help with the options proposed, but it will come will down to fit. Good luck in finding a simple option

Does the 2011 speed triple not have SAI?

Us carburetted guys deal with this all the time due to the fact that carbs do not control mixture that well on overrun. That would tell me that if there is a solution to be had it would be with remapping. I would say the problem is not lean mixture, but rich mixture. When the throttle plate closes, like the carburetted bikes, it goes a little rich until fuel supply catches on to the idea there is little air coming in. Hopefully, this could be tuned out with some re-mapping. ...J.D.

ECU controlled injected motors actually cut all fuel during closed throttle so it wont be rich.

Can the ecu be re mapped or do I need a power commander or such like?

Why complicate things with a Power Commander ?Just take it in and have it looked at by someone who has the proper equipment. Could be a re-mapping issue due to the non-stock exhaust. Could be an ignition issue. Have it checked out. ...J.D.

For speed Triples there are two maps, one for twin high underseat cans and another for single sided 'low boys'
If you have the wrong map for the exhaust system you have it can cause excessive pops n bangs and won't do your engine much good.

Options, investigate using TuneECU to connect your bike to a computer and check the map installed and replace with the correct one if necessary
Get your local garage to check/replace the correct map
Get your bike custom mapped and enjoy the power delivery as it is meant to be before environmental restrictions were forced in

Also, investigate removing the Secondary Air Intake (SAI) gubbins
This injects fresh air from the air box into the exhaust headers to burn of any unburned fuel before it leaves the exhaust, this is the direct cause of popping in the exhaust

I bought DB killers from eBay in the past. Found the cheap Chinese ones well made but the sizing a few mm out. But once bolted in made no difference in the fitting.
I have ridden bikes with race cans fitted and always found that they popped and bang on closing the throttle.

Some silencer designs just promote hot spots which cause unburnt fuel to be ignited...not a lot you can do in that case...
