Rtv Valve Cover Sealant: Silicone Or Gasketmaker?

    1997 Triumph Tiger 885
    Factory Service Manual on page 100, 3.5 indicates the use of "RTV sealant" on the valve cover gasket ends, and the spark plug sealant gaskets. But it doesn't mention whether this should be silicone or gasket maker.

    What are your experiences?
    Should I use black RTV silicone?
    Should I use other RTV gasket maker?

    I think black RTV silicone will be more suitable for the 1997 triumoh tiger 885. It offers excellent durability.
