Rookie Electrical Question

Generally i would disconnect the battery but have done many jobs without disconnection and i can't see that changing indicators would require it. The licence plate not sure of you laws but here it is a requirement to have the number plate illuminated.

 

If you disconnect the battery the engine management light will come on the dash, the indicator wires are insulated at the ends, so no risk of any accidental shorting out, I take it you are fitting scrolling indicators, or maybe just ones more slimline, the EMU will automatically recognise the new indicators and therefore the replacements are just plug and play.

 

@Pete B See your point. Over here as long as you declare your addons and they are not speed enhancements they are accepted by most insurance companies. But as said most of what you are doing is just plug and play so really you are fine to just carry on without worries. And we are all here to help each other if needed so just keep asking.
