Greetings all. USA-based (Cincinnati) and this is going to date me, but my first Triumph was a 3 YO 1968 Bonneville while I was in college. Beautiful machine! Kept it stock and rode it for a year until a heavy rainfall got through the cheese grater chrome filter covers, into the cylinder and rusted the rings in place. Somehow I got it rebuilt myself (zero Whitford wrenches in my toolbox then and now) and sold it the following spring, something I still regret, but poor college kids have few options.

Fast forward some decades -- always a rider -- and I'm about to acquire a lightly-used 2019 Speed Twin. Excited to add it to the fleet.

I'm a writer/editor and spent many years editing a variety of motorcycle publications, so at one time or another have ridden nearly everything out there. And still race motocross, a KTM 450SXF is tales up a spot in the garage.

Hi n welcome :) great choice with the Speed Twin as it takes a lot of its Retro styling from the 63-70 unit 650's.

Greetings and welcome to the forum, Vet_Racer and welcome back to the Triumph family, too. Congrats on that new-to-you Speed Twin. We'd love to see a photo or two. And I'm curious to know what motorcycle magazines you've worked for if you'd be willing to share. My hubby grew up just up the road from Cincinnati in Hamilton and most all of his family still live there.
