Hi @ShaunW you might get a better response from your post if you repost your question in the technical section, rather than here in the newbies thread.

Hello Shaun, if you’re still there and looking for a starter motor then Fowler’s parts and World of Triumph have them but their prices are well salty. I’d be tempted to look for a used one from a breakers before parting with £500+ for a new one, even one with knackered windings that you could rob the centre out of, they’re not difficult to take apart, I’ve fitted new brushes to starters in the past. Best of luck.

    Starter motors are fairly generic.
Measure it up and count teeth on the drive end , go to wrecking yard's and compare.
MTG point, length , diameter and drive shafts are critical sizes , motor of similar size will be similarly rated torque/HP draw/output .
Other alternatives buy a second hand engine with ancillaries still on it.
You have many spare parts to use or trade left over !!
I bought a ~33,000km Triumph Bonneville America engine for $800 or about £420 , it came with starter motor ! Some come with carburettor or injection still attached for just a £100 or so more !?!? :p:):D
