    Hi All

have an electrical issue that need some input, purchased a 955 2004 and have noticed burnt wiring coming out of the rectifier ( see photos) I have looked at replacing the unit but when looking at the replacement the wiring looks different, the one on the bike has 2 earth wires on it which don't show on the replacement, also it looks like someone has put a wiring adapter of some sort ( see photos) straight to the fuse box, I have not a clue about wiring and don't want to continue. If you can check out the photos and see if this looks normal

    Regards
    Tony

is there no one on here who wants to hazard a guess at what this guy has done to this rectifier, looks like he has run a feed straight from the rectifier to the battery, why he would do this I don't know?

Sorry, pal. Only posting so you know I'm not ignoring the thread but I know fuck all about electrics - it's like magic to me! As far as I'm concerned a bulb is the sun in a bottle! Hope someone here can help.

cheers for the support, I realise electrics is a dark art , however I would appreciate any Daytona 955i owners (2002-2005) to post a photo if possible of the wiring coming from the rectifier and into the cable blocks, then a photo into the loom. This will give me an idea of how it is meant to look on an unmolested model.

    Cheers

    Tony

    Hi There

It looks like someone has tried to do the rectifier mod as recommended/suggested for the rubbish Triumph rectifier - I've had mine melt on me - over at the Triumphrat.net site.
Charging System Diagnostics - Rectifier/Regulator Upgrade - Triumph Forum: Triumph Rat Motorcycle Forums

    Hope that helps?

Thanks for the replies guys, have chopped out all the wiring mod this idiot did and have gone back to the original setup via the fuse box, am now getting 14.3v at the battery which I believe is the correct voltage to have.
