Trevor Francis passed away yesterday aged 69, the same age as me. He will always be remembered as the first English million pound player, though Brian Clough, his new manager, said it was only £999,999 so Trevor wouldn't get a big head. He came to play at Birmingham City Football Club aged 16 and swiftly became a legend there. His move to Nottingham Forest brought the European Cup with him scoring the only goal with a header, which he was not known for. He also played for Manchester City, Sampdoria, Rangers, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday and for England in 52 appearances, scoring 5 goals, unfortunately his playing career was littered with injuries. He managed 4 clubs, including his loved Birmingham City. He was and always will be adored by the Bluenoses where he has Godlike status. Thanks for some great memories. R.I.P. Trevor. KRO.(KEEP RIGHT ON...)
I was a BCFC fan in those days but bikes took over and I rarely watch even international matches nowadays.
