Quick question-Fuel gauge/light

    Hi
    Only had my Speed Triple for 3 weeks so still getting used to it.
    Out yesterday and the fuel warning light came on with two bars still showing on the fuel gauge.
    I was in the middle of nowhere but didn't want to take a chance on running out so ended up filling up in a little country filling station and paying a fortune!!!
    So my question is how accurate is the fuel gauge and approximately how many miles do I have left when the fuel warning light come on- let's say under normal riding conditions.

    I have done 12 miles with light on and plenty left :)

    I had 1 bar left on my speed triple yesterday and it took 14ltrs,my manual says it holds 17 or 17.5ltrs cant remember which..so 2 bars should mean you have well over a gallon..but don't quote me on this!!

    On most Triumph models there is usually roughly 4 ltrs left when the light comes on. However more precise information will be available in your handbook.

    On my Tiger the 2nd half of the fuel gauge drops MUCH faster the the 1st half. However there is always loads left in, even when the needle is completely off the gauge and the light is off. My tank is supposed to hold 24 ltrs but the best I've ever managed is 15 ltrs.

    If you scroll through using the I button once the yellow low-fuel light comes on, one of the displays will show miles left to empty...
