    Looks like a terrifically fun place, Dartplayer! One question, though. Is it--or was it--actually a stables? I'm guessing from the date that the hotel was established that guests rode their horses there and had their steeds stable akin to how we now park our cars in the parking lot or garage. I guess I never really thought of that before. :joy: Very cool that this place is still kickin'. :)

    Is a great haunt of car and bike fans alike :cool: Yes, the stables were across the road from the hotel. They are a front now for the car/bike parking.

    Terrific article about the place, Dartplayer. And that book, The Great Kiwi Pub Crawl, looks fun, too. What a cool adventure that would be to try to hit all the places in the book. :)
