i wasn't wanting my sat nav hard wired into my bike as i want to remove the sat nav bracket when not in use,i have one of those Din plug adapter with 2 usb ports, everything was working fine for the first 20 mins or so but then without any warning the Adapter fell out of the socket, luckily it stayed attached to the usb cable that was plugged into the sat nav, i thought maybe it wasn't plugged in right, so i made sure it was, same thing happened again. looking at the Adapter it seems really easy to pull out of the socket the part that fits into the socket is only about 12mm. has anyone else had this problem and is there a better adapter available that is a tighter fit?

I think I’ve got the exact same adapter on my GS Dougie and it hasn’t moved at all, though I don’t tend to take it out like you do. I wonder if the tangs have compressed a bit with frequent removal and refitting and if so could you gently open them out to give a bit more of a push fit?

i got it for my GS too, but I've never used it yet apart from today on the Triumph. like you say I'll see if i can open it up a bit, I'd feel happier if it was a tighter fit

Mine drops out every now and again. So far there hasn’t been a problem but the wire and plug drop through the frame and is difficult to recover on the move. I now wrap the wire around my phone holder bracket so if it does come loose, it won’t drop far.

I noticed my Optimate was not connecting properly as the charging lights were not normal. I did as suggested above and teased the contacts out inside the socket (battery disconnected) and plug. I could feel it was tighter and the connection was solid. Worth a try.

Sounds obvious, but make sure you leads are long enough if the distance changes lock to lock on the steering or pushed to a place that can be snagged.
