I work for a UK manufacturing company of motorcycle electronics and we are looking to expand our catalogue. Are there any known issues with classic and modern Triumphs which we may be able to look into, mainly ignition problems?
Some owners of the new Speed 400 and 400X Scrambler have experienced occasional problems with bikes stalling, mainly, but possibly not only, when slowing down and downshifting when coming to a halt. The current Triumph software update does not always fix this. The ride by wire throttle is also very sensitive/jerky, although that may be a common occurrence with ride by wire systems!
675 street triple stator plates and rectifiers. Known issues plus a section of repair cable with the appropriate connection jackplug in the middle.
T300 triples (91 to 98 -ish) had/have a tendency to self destruct the starter sprag clutch if the battery voltage is marginal for the load at start time. A monitor/indicator/automatic starter button "kill" in the circuit if the battery's cranking capacity is detected as marginal - maybe set up to flash the ignition on light as the tell-tale?
