Hello guys/gals. I’m seriously considering buying a new Street Twin. Jet black. I have not taken one for a test drive yet. First time dealing with a dealership.

I wanted to ask those that have the Street, are you happy with your choice? Would you have still bought it knowing what you know now? Dealing with dealerships should I be able to get a lower price than msrp? If so, what would you think? Im in Florida several dealers. TIA Keith

    Hey Keith,
What type of rider are you and what bike did you have previously?

the street twin is a great bike but if your a more experienced rider, used to something a little more powerful then I would suggest trying a Speed Twin too.

IMO the biggest characteristic of the ST is the sweet low down torque delivery, the downside is the lack of top end on the bike. I’m talking the prior model here and the latest one has a much needed 10hp increase but I believe the ride characteristics are similar, in that the power drops off at higher revs.
You definitely need to ride one, it’s a fantastic bike.
    Hope that helps

Agree that it depends what sort of rider you are. I love my Street Twin, but I don't ride for adrenaline, to get somewhere quickly or to impress/compete with others. It is a lovely relaxed ride due to the low reving torque. Similar revs to a car so makes progress without fuss and it happily sits at around 70mph on a motorway.

I have riden bikes for years, albeit with a 15 year break. I read a lot of articles assuming we all want to progress onto more and more powerful bikes, not sure if it is because of marketing, because lots of journalists are into speed or if I am just in a minority.
