Popping And Banging Exhaust

    Hi all just bought a 2011 Triumph Bonneville SE. When out riding and decelerating the exhaust pops and bangs is this normal, its all stock as far as i can see Cheers all.

    If the pipes are stock then I'd guess the carbs need to be re-jetted. The condition you describe makes me think the engine is running lean.

    I suggest to block the air injection system (AIS) if there is still one on your bike.

    A leak on the exhaust system before the silencer(s) can also cause this. Check for loose exhaust fittings/clamps etc.

    It's normal. As has been said, SAI removal will pretty much stop it.

    Had a 2012 SE, which was stock when bought but it never popped and banged with standard exhaust.
