So , I got new brushes and brush holder on my Tiger xc 800 , that seems to have cured the problem . Trouble is I'm still getting poor fuel consumption , fill up and the gauge reads ' 140 miles to empty ' getting 35 mpg at 70 mph , and about 40 mpg at 30 ~ 40 mph ? Dont get it , new air filter , plugs . And throttle balance all recently done ?

I average about 60 mpg on Tigger - but then I don’t cane the bike like a loon...

When out with The Harley Boys it’s nearer 67 mpg...

There definitely something odd with ur Tiger if that is all ur getting...

Just to make sure its not some sensor problem, why not try manually calculating the mpg? Fill the tank, go for a blast about for 100 miles then refill and workout the consumption...

Have you had ur Tiger from new? If not maybe someone tinkered with the ECU map?

Done that . Reserve light goes on at 140 miles with 2 bars . Used to get 180 + before light & 2 bars . Not been messed with before problems arose !

If there are electric issues maybe there’s a weak spark and poor combustion?

Is the performance of the bike a bit depressed?

Presuming its liquid cooled ECU engine and the drop in consumption is relatively sudden i would check the coolant temp sensor for the ECU as failure will result in permanent rich mixture and bad consumption...however that is quite a drop.
