eBay item no. 112016481076 Bonnie Speedmaster P40 War Hawk custom.
    6/2009, £6950.
While I can admire the talented work that's gone into it, + the money, definitely not to my taste. (then again, I aint buying it!).
    Any comments?

Well I quite like it. The quality of work gone into it looks good from the pics I've seen.

The only downside to any bike that is painted in an extravagant manner is that for those who love it, price is not a barrier. However the market for a Speedie painted like is much reduced, due in part to the fact that "shrinking violets need not apply" so to speak.

It really is a Marmite thing, you either love it or hate it. Can you imagine turning up to the Grand Get-Together in August on it? Well Bad Ass !!!!!

Nah! Paint job is awful, but it'll probably appeal to someone

I've often thought that riding a bike briskly through a series of bends must feel a bit like flying a fighter (Spitfire in my era) so with this, I would have the very best of both !!!!!!

I don't really approve of the yank insignia on a BRITISH bike either, we also had the P40 Kitty/War Hawk so it could have had RAF roundels.
The P40, like the P51 Mustang didn't work properly with the American Alison engines either, much better aircraft when it got the BRITISH Rolls Royce Merlin engines!;)

I'm sure you're right HO but for me I still think it would be a hoot to ride.

PS This bike was on for £8500 a couple of weeks ago - so presumably he got no takers at that figure.

Lets be honest at it's base it's a std. 2009 Speedmaster that's worth what? £4500?

This one was at last years DGR and the chap riding it was in full RAF uniform complete with handlebar tash and pipe!

Quite like it (the P40) but I wouldn't ride anything with yank stickers on it.
