Thought I'd share my tale of woe on the off chance it helps someone else...

I was resetting my ISCV and TPS on my 2011 S3

Bike was a bit temperamental at starting before anyway

Tried starting and starter would run for half a second then stop...got an error P1685

Then starter would not run at all, my neutral light wouldn't go off and the fuel pump would prime 10 seconds after the ignition went on

Everytime I cleared it it came back instantly

New battery in (it needed one anyway)

After checking and swapping relays no joy....

It was then I noticed that one wire to the EMS relay was going into the connector block but had broken off :(

Resoldered the wire, Thought here we go.....

Hit the button.....nothing but a clicking starter relay but no fault codes... :)

    Tested relays, wiring, solenoid, starter

    All good...

Got my neighbour to help me bump start it...ha ha ha...not a chance

Then a little voice in my head said...put the headlight fuse back in...

Lo and behold fired up first time

Morals of the story....if you get a relay fault check the connector blocks and if your bike won't start check the headlights

Common sense really :/ ha ha ha

I've got to give a HUGE THANKS to you, Jody!

My Sprint wouldn't start after I slipped and dropped it (on me) while pushing it into the garage. I checked the Haynes manual, opened it up and checked the tip over sensor, did everything they suggested and still couldn't get it to turn over. Searched ALL the Triumph forums and found nothing.

Then I realized that this bike (2008 Sprint ST) has an OBD port, so once I plugged in my reader and got the code, YOUR post was the first hit on my search. When I read that it might be as simple as the fuse, I recalled that my wife had noticed that one of the headlights was out after the tip over.

Long story short, I replaced a simple 20A fuse and it ...

So, thanks to Jody for posting your woes and solutions and thanks to Triumph Forum for making these sorts of solutions possible. Its this kind of community that made me decide to become a member and not just another lurker.
