Just out of curiosity, what are peoples preferences for wheels on "modern classics"?

I know that nice shiny spoked wheels look good but I'd much prefer to have had the option of one piece wheels, be they cast or forged or whatever, when I ordered the T120. My main reason for the preference is fitting of tubeless tyres as opposed to tubed.

Would anyone else like to have had the option of having alternative wheels fitted from new?

You can run tubeless tires on spoked rims, even have them on my leg irons lol. Ally wheels for me as I hate cleaning spokes.

I like the cast wheels on my Bonnie as they are 17" dia as opposed to 19" spoked wheels which lowers the bike height for my short legs.
Easier to clean than the spoke wheels without a doubt.
I must amit though, I do like the look of the spoke wheels better than the cast. (more traditional)

Personal preference is alloys, easier to keep clean than spokes.
Rust free but can still get tarnished but far easier to get back to looking good.
Once spokes rust it means replacing the spokes which is not any easy thing to do

Well for me it has to spoked, you can`t beat the dread filled feeling in your stomach knowing that you have to clean the damned things and at least two hours of your life are going to be spent hurting the tips of your fingers as you push a cloth through them trying to get all the crap out, and then hoping you have no signs of corrosion which means extra work if you do. Once they have been cleaned and treated with chrome cleaner then you have to polish them up thoroughly where you go around each one with a fine tooth comb checking to make sure they are all polished and shiny and you haven`t missed any polish. Nope you can`t beat lovely shiny spoked wheels. ;);)
